When I was a child, I used to write stories.

When I was a teenager, I learned you could write stories for a living. So I got a degree in journalism and set off for CNN to make news. In the 19 or so years that followed, I almost swore in front of Bishop Desmond Tutu, had both Evander Holyfield and George Stephanopoulos’ phone numbers in my Rolodex, called someone “Your Highness” without irony, and spoke to the Prime Minister of Israel. It was a heck of a career.

I took a detour into arts marketing, where I sold expensive tickets to fancy performances and set revenue records doing it. It was fun, but it wasn’t my calling.

In 2020, I came back to my first love, writing, and never looked back. Since then, I’ve written articles and blogs for Yelp, thestreet.com, parade.com, and sportsillustrated.com.  I’ve written a number of episodes of Yelp & Entrepreneur’s Behind the Review podcast. I’ve also done some work writing articles and advertorials for pharmacies and carpet stores. I’ve even copy-edited a real book on fundraising.
